THE UNLISTENABLES

In the midst of 2020, The Unlistenables were formed as a way for guitarist Alex Ivanov, bassist Glenn Kastrinos, and drummer Curtis Lyons to cleanse their pallet of their usual top 40 cover gigs with flippant silliness in the form of improvised irreverent “covers” and Legend of Zelda references. This highly technical group of musicians balances virtuous intensity with funky grooves that not only permit unconventional playing but encourages it.

was a drummer. Alex thought Glenn was a Bassist and invited him to play bass. Glenn said yes and then became a bassist.

began playing guitar aged 7, encouraged by his father and mother who had been playing music professionally for the better part of 30 years. Not more than a year later, Alex was playing live shows with his parents for nearly every weekend for the next 10 years. Pulling inspirations from Ritchie Blackmore, Jeff Beck, and Guthrie Govan, Alex has amalgamated a hard biting rock guitar style with Jazz phrasing.
